The San Francisco Bay Area (and Marin County in particular) is a great place to live due in part because of all the fun things to do around here. October 2 – Carlos Mencia is performing at Wells Fargo Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa
October 2 – 4 – The 9th Annual Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival is a FREE concert in Golden Gate Park
October 3 – San Francisco’s LovEvolution Parade and Festival (formerly known as the Love Fest)
October 3 & 4 – As part of the Italian Heritage Celebration, the Madonna del Luma Celebration
October 5 – The 32nd Annual Bridge to Bridge Run benefiting Special Olympics
October 6 – McCormick and Kuleto’s 16th Annual Shuck and Swallow Challenge to benefit the Marine Mammal Center
October 7 – The Sonoma Valley Farmer’s Market on the Sonoma Plaza
October 8 – 13 – It’s Fleet Week in San Francisco! (click on the link for more detailed information)
October 8 – The Blue Angels will be performing from 12-5pm
October 9 – The Blue Angels will be performing from 1-4pm
October 10 – There will be a Parade of Ships from 11:30 – 12:30 and more Air Shows from 12:30 – 4:00
October 10 – The Italian Heritage Grand Ball at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco
October 11 – There will be Ship Tours, as part of Fleet Week, from 11am – 4pm and more Air Shows with the Blue Angels from 12:30 – 4:00pm
October 11 – The mile long stretch of Arnold Drive that runs through Glen Ellen will be closed down for the Glen Ellen Village Fair, complete with food, wine, beer and craft booths. Festivities are from noon until 5:00pm.
October 11 – The 141st Annual Italian Heritage/Columbus Day Parade in San Francisco
October 12 & 13 – Finishing up Fleet Week, there will be Ship Tours on both of these days from 11am – 4pm
October 13 – The Sonoma Valley Farmer’s Market on the Sonoma Plaza
October 13 – Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt are performing at Wells Fargo Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa
October 16 & 17 – Lavay Smith and the Red Hot Skillet Lickers are performing at Wells Fargo Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa
October 17 – Gordon Lightfoot is playing at the Napa Valley Opera House
October 18 – 2009 Wine Country Memory Walk in Petaluma to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association
October 20 – The Sonoma Valley Farmer’s Market on the Sonoma Plaza
October 22 – Light the Night Walk to help find cures for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, at Union Square
October 27 – The Sonoma Valley Farmer’s Market on the Sonoma Plaza (this is the last one for the year)
October 31 – Take the Haunted Haight Walking Tour for something a little different on Halloween
